The funeral fundraiser for TikToker Brian Chira has surpassed KES 5 million in just 48 hours since its launch. Spearheading the fundraising endeavors is Chira’s close friend and content creator, Baba Talisha.

With unwavering support from his online community and fans, funds were promptly amassed to ensure Chira receives a dignified send-off. As of Thursday, the fundraiser had accumulated Sh1.2 million.

Baba Talisha disclosed that Chira’s grandmother had a poignant wish for him to be laid to rest in a graduation gown. The burial is scheduled for March 26, with the funeral taking place in Githunguri, the residence of Chira’s grandmother.

Baba Talisha specified that the body viewing will occur at Kenyatta Funeral Home, adhering to Kikuyu tradition rather than at the grandmother’s residence.

Chira tragically lost his life in a road accident around 3 am on Saturday, March 16, 2024, with news of his passing disseminating across social media later that Saturday afternoon.

Authorities are currently in pursuit of the truck responsible for the collision, which occurred on the Ndenderu-Ruaka Road in Kiambu County. The white speeding lorry failed to halt at the scene after fatally injuring the prominent Kenyan TikToker.

An autopsy will be conducted as part of the accident investigation before further actions are taken in the case. Additionally, police will visit locations Chira frequented prior to the incident. Investigations are underway to ascertain whether Chira was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident in the Gacharage area.

Pius Mwanthi, the Kiambaa sub-county police commander, stated that efforts are ongoing to locate the lorry involved in the accident.

Surveillance cameras near the scene and along the road will be reviewed to aid in identifying the vehicle. Mwanthi urged the driver responsible to come forward and cooperate with the investigation, emphasizing the importance of their involvement in resolving the matter.
