Kenya Airways will improve its codeshare partnerships with the implementation of a new flight management system from Lufthansa Systems, the airline announced Wednesday.
The system called SchedConnect will allow Kenya Airways to update its flight schedules in real-time across partner airlines, eliminating manual updates and reducing schedule errors with codeshare partners.
“We are delighted to strengthen our partnership with Lufthansa Systems as we continually seek to innovate and improve the customer experience,” said Martin Gitonga, head of network and alliances at Kenya Airways.
As a member of the SkyTeam alliance, Kenya Airways has codeshare agreements with multiple global carriers. The new system will help Kenya Airways grow and integrate new airline partnerships faster and more efficiently.
SchedConnect provides airlines with a centralized flight database that is updated in real-time. Kenya Airways will now have improved visibility into partner flight schedules, helping ensure smoother connections for customers booking codeshare flights.
“Having relied on NetLine Sched and NetLine Plan for close to sixteen years, we trust the quality of their solutions and look forward to faster integration of new codeshare partners without errors,” Gitonga said.
The move away from manual codeshare management ushers Kenya Airways into a more seamless system across its worldwide alliances, according to the airline.
Marco Cesa, a senior vice president at Lufthansa Systems, said the company is pleased to support Kenya Airways with a reliable, experienced codeshare solution designed for alliance members like those in SkyTeam.
Kenya Airways has used Lufthansa Systems’ flight planning and scheduling tools since 2007. The new SchedConnect system aims to enhance the airline’s existing partnership with Lufthansa Systems.
