The United Nations has appointed former Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) commissioner Dr. Roselyn Akombe as the new Chief of Peacebuilding Strategy and Partnerships on Thursday, January 5, 2023.
The Department of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs (DPPA) of the UN indicated that Akombe will keep track of and evaluate events in world politics.

Akombe was honored for her competence and knowledge in management, international politics, and diplomacy. Akombe will also be in charge of operations supporting Secretary-General António Guterres’ office.
Taking to her Twitter account on January 5, 2023, Akombe expressed her appreciation for the appointment
“Grateful for the appointment to serve as Chief of Peacebuilding Strategy and Partnerships at UNDPPA.”
Akombe has been working as the Regional Coordinator for Governance and Peacebuilding at the Regional Service Centre for Africa of the UNDP in Addis Abeba, Ethiopia, with additional offices in Dakar, Senegal, and Nairobi, Kenya.
She held the role for two years, until December 2022.
