Former Transport CS Michael Kamau Appointed NHIF Chairperson

President WIlliam Ruto has appointed the former Transport Cabinet Secretary as the new chairperson for the National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF).

Kamau, who will serve for a period of three years effective December 23, 2022, takes the place of Lewis Nguyai, whose appointment to the position has been revoked.

President Ruto has also appointed former Chief of the Defence Forces Julius Waweru Karangi to be the Chairperson of the National Council for Population and Development Board, with effect from the 23rd of December 2022 up to the 20th of July 2024. He revoked the appointment of David Ngugi.

Anthony Muriuki Munyiri has been appointed the Chairman of the National Social Security Fund Board of Trustees, taking the place of Karangi whose appointment to the position has been revoked.

Job Chirchir has been appointed as the Chairperson of the Kenya Forest Service for a period of three years while Faith Boinett was appointed as the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Kenya Pipeline Company Limited. Ruto revoked the appointment of Rita Achieng Okuthe to the position of chairperson for the Kenya Pipeline Company.

UDA governor hopeful for Nyamira Walter Nyambati was appointed the Chairperson of the Board of Geothermal Development Company while Walter Raria Koipaton was named the Chairperson of the Kenya Wildlife Service Board.
