The third inter-Congolese discussion, led by the EAC and focuses on restoring peace and security in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo, will last through December 3rd, 2022.

The goal of the summit is to advance current regional efforts to establish lasting peace and security in the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, as elaborated by several efforts of the EAC Heads of State.

Nairobi III follows Uhuru’s official trip to Kinshasa and Goma, DRC, for the Mini-Summit on Peace and Security in the Eastern DRC, where he served as the East African Community’s facilitator. This will mark the duo’s first public appearance together since Ruto’s inauguration as the fifth President in September.
