Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) will on Friday, October 28, 2022, recognize and celebrate business and individual taxpayers who have been compliant in remitting their taxes during this year’s Taxpayers Day.

The event will take place at Kenyatta International Convention Centre  (KICC), Nairobi, and will be officiated by President Dr William  Ruto.

Taxpayers from various sectors of the economy will be fated for their resilience and dedication towards the national development agenda through payment of taxes that saw the annual revenue collection hit and surpass the two trillion mark after KRA collected Ksh2.031  trillion during the Financial Year 2021/2022.

The event is a culmination of the Annual Taxpayers’ Month customarily organized in the month of October. The taxpayers’ month provides platforms and opportunities for KRA to engage key stakeholders on tax matters. This feedback is aimed at enhancing tax processes and improving tax compliance.

“Taxpayers remain our supreme and esteemed customers and their satisfaction is the principal to our day-to-day processes and activities. It is for this reason that we set aside the month of October to celebrate and appreciate them,” Grace Wandera, Deputy Commissioner Marketing and  Communication.

Some of the engagements during the Taxpayers’ Month include taxpayer education activities, tax summits, customer visits and Corporate Social  Responsibility activities meant to give back to society.

This year’s Taxpayers Month was driven by the theme ‘Leaving no one  Behind’ to highlight the significance of shared nationhood and pulling together as a citizenry in determining the country’s destiny, including economic sovereignty through payment of taxes.
