UDA pays tribute to Malava MP Injendi after sudden passing

The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has announced the passing of Hon. Moses Malulu Injendi, the Member of Parliament for Malava, marking a significant loss in Kenya’s political landscape.

In a statement released on Monday, UDA described Injendi as “a dedicated and visionary leader” whose contributions, particularly in the National Assembly, will be remembered for generations.

Injendi, who was serving his third term as Malava’s representative, was known for his commitment to public service, especially in education policy. He was Vice-Chairman of the Education and Research Committee in Parliament, a role in which he influenced key legislative discussions on Kenya’s education sector. “His legacy will continue to guide Kenyans,” the UDA statement added.

UDA Secretary General Hassan Omar Hassan led the party in expressing condolences, stating: “Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, his Malava constituents, Parliament, and all those affected by his death.”

The ANC Party, which merged with UDA following its dissolution, was the political platform through which Injendi was re-elected. The statement reaffirmed UDA’s solidarity with his supporters during this period of mourning.

Political analysts say Injendi’s passing leaves a significant void in Malava’s leadership, particularly given his legislative focus on education and public policy. His tenure saw increased advocacy for education reforms and greater parliamentary engagement on social issues.

As tributes pour in from across Kenya’s political divide, discussions are expected to turn toward succession plans and the by-election process to fill the vacant seat.

Meanwhile, UDA assured that it will support Injendi’s family and his constituents during this time.

“May Injendi’s soul rest in eternal peace,” the statement concluded.
