Kenyatta National Hospital resolves SHA system glitch

Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) has announced the full restoration of its systems following a temporary downtime that disrupted services over the past two days. The hospital, in a public statement, reassured patients that the Social Health Authority (SHA) system is now fully operational and aligned with KNH’s infrastructure.

Normal operations have resumed, and patients are being attended to efficiently, the hospital said. “We deeply regret the inconvenience this may have caused to our patients and their families,” stated Dr. Evanson Kamuri, Chief Executive Officer of KNH.

The downtime had affected patient clearance and administrative processes, causing delays in service delivery. In response, KNH deployed additional personnel across all impacted departments and extended working hours to address the backlog. The hospital emphasized its commitment to expediting pending cases and ensuring the system functions smoothly.

“KNH remains steadfast in its mission to provide specialized, high-quality healthcare services to all our patients,” Dr. Kamuri affirmed.

The swift response to the issue underscores KNH’s proactive measures to mitigate operational challenges and maintain trust among its stakeholders.
