The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has firmly denied allegations linking its vehicle to the alleged abduction of Mr. Gideon Kibet, as raised by Senator Okiya Omtatah Okoiti. In a press statement dated December 26, 2024, the agency emphasized that the claims are “not only unfounded but also sensationalize a sensitive issue.”

The DCI underscored that all its operations are conducted in line with the Constitution and legal frameworks, reiterating its commitment to justice and public trust. “The Inspector General (IG) has clearly stated that all police operations are conducted within the confines of the Constitution,” the statement affirmed.

The alleged incident involved reports of a white Subaru, purportedly associated with the DCI, being linked to an abduction. The agency categorically denied any association and assured that the matter is under thorough investigation. “The integrity of our investigations is paramount, and we take any attempts to undermine this process seriously,” it added.

The DCI called for credible information from the public to aid in resolving such cases and urged leaders to avoid speculative remarks that might hinder investigations. “We urge any individuals with credible information on these matters to come forward and cooperate with our independent investigations,” the statement read.
