Detectives have identified Hashim Dagane Muhumed as the primary suspect in a disturbing case involving the mutilated body discovered at Lang’ata Cemetery on October 31, 2024. Muhumed, already under investigation for the Eastleigh murders of a mother, her daughter, and her 12-year-old niece, has now been connected to this latest crime through critical evidence and surveillance footage.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) traced the victim’s last known movements via CCTV, beginning with footage from Quickmart supermarket on October 29. Authorities report that the woman was last seen entering an apartment in Lavington, where she was captured on another CCTV camera entering the building. Detectives confirmed that she was with Dagane, who had been staying in the apartment.

On October 31, footage showed Dagane leaving the Lavington apartment, carrying two bags believed to contain the victim’s remains. These bags were later found at Lang’ata Cemetery, leading investigators to believe they were used to transport the victim’s body. According to a police statement, “The footage provides a significant link between the suspect and the disposal of the body.”

The victim is thought to be Deka Abdinoor Gorone, who was reported missing on October 24, 2024, at the California Police Station. Forensic analysis is ongoing to confirm her identity, with authorities emphasizing their commitment to justice. “We are actively working to confirm the victim’s identity and will pursue all possible leads,” a DCI spokesperson said.

Further developments in the investigation reveal that the owner of the Lavington apartment may have assisted in covering up the crime. Detectives disclosed that after learning of the murder, the apartment owner allegedly cleaned the scene, repainted rooms, and then went into hiding. Authorities are now searching for him and expect to make an arrest soon.

As the investigation progresses, detectives are also exploring possible links between Dagane and other criminal activities across the country. The DCI reiterated their dedication to ensuring justice for all victims involved. “This case is a priority for us, and we will leave no stone unturned in our pursuit of justice,” the spokesperson added.
