NPSC shortlists eight candidates for deputy inspector general roles

The National Police Service Commission (NPSC) has announced the shortlist of candidates for the positions of Deputy Inspector General, Kenya Police Service (DIG-KPS), and Deputy Inspector General, Administration Police Service (DIG-APS). NPSC Chief Executive Officer Peter Leley confirmed that interviews will be conducted on Monday, July 22, 2024, at the Kenya School of Government, Lower Kabete Campus in Nairobi.

For the position of DIG-KPS, the shortlisted candidates are George Adero Sedah, Eliud Kipkoech Lagat, Tom Mboya Odero, and Dr. Vincent Kinas Makokha. These candidates will face the panel first, with interviews scheduled from 9:30 am to 12:15 pm.

In the afternoon session, the nominees for the DIG-APS post will be interviewed from 2:00 pm to 4:15 pm. The candidates for this position are Gilbert Masengeli, Margaret Nyambura Karanja, James Mukuha Kamau, and Dr. Masoud Mwinyi.

A total of 38 individuals applied for these prestigious positions following the Commission’s advertisement. Of these, 21 applied for the DIG-KPS position, while 13 applied for the DIG-APS role. Additionally, four applicants, namely Paul Omondi Okinyi, Brian Wekesa Wanyonyi, Abdirashid Bilali, and Nicholas Mwiti, did not specify which position they were applying for.

The NPSC has urged the public to submit any relevant information regarding the candidates. Submissions can be made through written memoranda addressed to the Commission’s chairperson or online. The deadline for submissions is Monday next week.
