President William Ruto, in a call to arms against the myriad security challenges facing Kenya, implored the nation’s future military leaders to pioneer innovative strategies during the Cadets Commissioning Parade held at the Kenya Military Academy in Lanet.

Addressing the assembled cadets, President Ruto underscored the pressing need for the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) to evolve more agile and effective approaches to safeguarding national security. He emphasized the imperative of leveraging technology, fostering community engagement, and implementing targeted interventions to counter a spectrum of threats.

“The country looks to you, the Kenyan contingent in this cohort, as future leaders of the KDF, to be at the forefront of devising imaginative and efficient strategies to combat these threats effectively,” President Ruto stated.

Highlighting the gravity of the situation, President Ruto delineated the multifaceted challenges confronting Kenya, which encompass terrorism, transnational organized crime, cybersecurity threats, the security-related impacts of climate change, banditry, and cattle rustling. These perils, he stressed, not only jeopardize the safety and security of citizens but also undermine economic development and national stability.
