The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party is set to commence grassroots elections on April 27, 2024. The election will be conducted in phases, commencing in Kwale, Busia, and Siaya counties.

On April 29, ODM will conduct its grassroots elections in Kajiado, Migori, and Wajir counties. The polls will conclude on April 30, with Kisii, Vihiga, and Murang’a counties participating in the exercise.

ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna indicated that dates for other counties will be announced later, following a review of the earlier exercise’s outcomes.

Sifuna, while announcing the decision of the party’s central committee, stated that the governing council of the party will determine the mode of elections.

Additionally, ODM has called for the resignation of United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party officials currently serving in civil service roles. The party expressed concerns that appointing civil servants into party positions would regress the country to the dark days reminiscent of the KANU era.
