Two reported dead as planes collide mid-air in Nairobi

Investigations are currently ongoing into a mid-air collision involving two aircrafts in Nairobi,a Dash 8 registration number 5YSLK belonging to Safari Link which was headed for Diani with 44 passengers and crew and a Cessna plane.

The Cessna plane crashed at the park while the Dash 8 managed to land back at Wilson Airport.

Safarilink Aviation has issued a statement on their X platform, revealing that the incident occurred this morning on flight 053, which carried 39 passengers and 5 crew members. The flight was en-route to Diani when a loud noise was heard shortly after take-off.

”The crew decided to immediately turned back to Nairobi-Wilson Airport for further inspection and assessment an landed safely. There were no casualties reported” read the notice in part.
