The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has swooped in to arrest Vincent Mbito, the County’s Head of Treasury, along with his four brothers, in connection to a staggering KES 48.9 million graft scandal.

The Mbito siblings, allegedly wielding their familial ties and two companies as tools of deception, stand accused of orchestrating fraudulent deals with the county government, a revelation that has sent shockwaves through the region.

In a dawn operation, EACC agents descended upon Mombasa Central Police Station to apprehend the suspects, who have since been ferried to the Mombasa Anti-Corruption Court to face charges that could reverberate across Kwale County’s political and administrative landscape.

Vincent Mbito, his brothers Mongo, Hassan, Mwaiwe, and Chindoro, entrenched in various departments within the county, have been identified as the masterminds behind Chilongola Holdings and Rome Investments (k) Limited, entities allegedly crafted to facilitate their nefarious activities.
