Gituku’s promotion arrives in the wake of his recent appointment to the News Gang, succeeding former Citizen TV Political Affairs Editor Francis Gachuri, who transitioned to the Ministry of Interior as Head of Communications.

With a wealth of experience dating back to his tenure as a Radio Correspondent for Royal Media Services-owned Radio Citizen in 2012, Gituku’s journey in the media landscape has been marked by notable achievements. His adeptness in simplifying intricate subjects for audiences has garnered widespread acclaim.

The pinnacle of Gituku’s career came during the 2017 General Election, where he emerged as a leading reporter, earning trust and recognition for his interviews with prominent figures in Kenyan politics, including President William Ruto and Azimio Leader Raila Odinga.

In tandem with Gituku’s promotion, Philip Mwaniki has been elevated to the role of Senior Editor – Digital, commended for his leadership and innovation in maintaining the station’s digital platforms at the forefront of a fiercely competitive domain.

While these advancements signal the station’s commitment to nurturing talent and recognizing excellence, recent speculations regarding the departure of reporters, including Chemutain Goin and Hassan Mugambi, have yet to be confirmed by Citizen TV.
