ICT Cabinet Secretary Eliud Owalo has appointed David Mugonyi as the director general of the Communications Authority of Kenya.

Mugonyi currently serves as the head of the Presidential Communication Service.

He takes over the position from Ezra Chiloba, who resigned in October after a two-year tenure.

Owalo said in a statement Tuesday that the appointment came at the recommendation of the chief of staff and head of the public service.
