The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has announced the availability of the 2024 Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) performance reports on its Competency-Based Assessment (CBA) portal. Schools that registered candidates for the national assessment can now log in to the portal (http://cba.knec.ac.ke) to access individual learner reports.

KNEC’s decision to release the results online reflects its commitment to streamlining access to key education resources. This digital approach ensures that schools can efficiently retrieve and utilize performance data for curriculum planning and individual learner support. “Congratulations to all the 2024 KPSEA candidates for their efforts in completing this crucial milestone,” KNEC noted in a statement accompanying the release.

The reports provide a learner-specific breakdown of assessment results and are intended to help schools and educators identify areas of strength and opportunities for improvement. This information will play a critical role in guiding the next phase of learners’ educational journeys under Kenya’s Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC).

Schools can access the reports through a simple four-step process outlined by KNEC:

October 8, 2024
  1. Log in to the portal (http://cba.knec.ac.ke).
  2. Select either the KPSEA or KILEA portal.
  3. Click on “View Reports” under the Reports section.
  4. Enter the learner’s assessment number and download the performance report.

While only schools are permitted to download the KPSEA reports, the user-friendly interface ensures a seamless process for educators. KNEC has reiterated the importance of timely access, encouraging schools to log in as soon as possible to review their candidates’ performance.

The KPSEA assessment marks a significant step in transitioning to a more learner-centered evaluation system under the CBC. This shift aims to assess learners holistically, focusing not only on academic achievement but also on life skills and competencies that align with Kenya’s Vision 2030 education goals.
