President William Ruto has acknowledged that his leadership role is a divine assignment, entrusted to him by God, with the purpose of transforming Kenya. Speaking at a church service held at the United Pentecostal Church of Kenya in Dagoretti North, Nairobi, the president reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to fulfilling this responsibility.
Ruto emphasized that his mission to transform the nation is not an individual endeavor, but a collective effort. “There is a job God has given me to lead this nation and an assignment to transform Kenya, and I have every intention to make sure we transform our nation,” he stated. He further stressed that unity among all Kenyans is essential for the realization of this goal. “One man, one party, one region cannot do it but all of us united, we can achieve much together,” Ruto added.
Reflecting on his leadership journey, Ruto expressed immense pride in being the President of Kenya. He also voiced gratitude to God for enabling him to attain the position, acknowledging the challenges he faced before assuming office. The president responded to speculation about his future tenure, particularly from those who have questioned whether he would serve one term or more. “Kuna watu wanaongea mambo ya one term, two terms, three terms. Pale nyuma kuna watu walifikiria sitakuwa hata na term. Lakini Mungu ni nani? Nimefurahi sana Mungu amenipatia nafasi hii niwe kiongozi wa Kenya,” Ruto said.
Loosely translated: “People are talking about one term, two terms, three terms. Before, there were those who thought I wouldn’t even have a term. But who is God? I am very happy that God has given me this opportunity to be the leader of Kenya. I am a very proud President of the Republic of Kenya.”
