John Matara, identified as the primary suspect in the homicide case involving socialite Starlet Wahu, faced formal charges of murder subsequent to the conclusion of investigative proceedings.

Standing before Judge Kanyi Kimondo at the Milimani High Court on Friday, Matara pleaded not guilty to the charges brought forth during the court session.

The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) plans to file a request to prevent Matara from being granted bail.

The matter is scheduled for mention on February 26, during which the DPP’s application to contest Matara’s release on bond will be considered.
