Entertainer Allan Ochieng, also known as Hype Ballo, appeared in Kiambu High Court facing charges for the murder of Felix Kelian Kintosi, a DCI officer from DCI Dagoretti.

The Office of the Director of Public Prosecution, represented by Jenifer Ndeda, sought his detention pending a social inquiry report. Lady Justice Dorah Chepkwony approved the request, resulting in Ballo’s remand at Nairobi remand prison for an additional seven days.

This comes after, DJ Joe Mfalme was designated as a state witness in the murder trial. The Director of Public Prosecutions, in a communication dated April 5, 2024, recommended Mfalme’s testimony among seven other respondents. However, Ochieng denied all allegations against him.

He was apprehended alongside six others, including Dj Joe Mfalme, regarding Kintosi’s murder. The remaining six were later released and turned into prosecution witnesses. The bail/bond application hearing is set for May 2.
