The government has dismantled the residence of former Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohammed, situated in Kakamega County. According to sources, the upscale Milimani Estate property was razed to facilitate the implementation of President William Ruto’s Affordable Housing initiative.

According to eye witnesses who spoke to Sharp Daily a contingent of demolition personnel arrived at the scene and began knocking down the residence which the diplomat’s brother reportedly acquired in 2019.

While narrating the incident, the caretaker of the house disclosed that the contingent entered the homestead through the fence before proceeding to demolish the house.

The home that is registered under Lucas Nandih Shamalla faced public demolition, defying an initial court order mandating an immediate cessation of planned demolitions. On October 11 of the preceding year, the Environment and Land Court in Kakamega issued an injunction preventing the government from destroying the upscale residence. This injunction was granted pending a hearing and resolution of a legal case initiated by Shamalla.
