Ivy Chelimo, the celebrated university student behind the stylish name will now work from Gachagua’s Harambee Annex.

Confirming the appointment, Gachagua introduced Ivy to a crowd in Kajiado where he had joined Kenyans in celebrating world food day.

“This is the lady who replaced my name with ‘Riggy G’. I looked for her and gave her a job at my office,”  said Gachagua.

Ivy thanked the DP for recognizing her while urging youths to be aggressive in tapping opportunities around them.

“Don’t seat down and expect opportunities to come to you, run after activities as the youth because there is so much in this government to do,” she said.

While appearing in an interview with a local TV station earlier this month, the DP revealed he loved the name and had tasked his sons to track Ivy and bring her to him for a reward.

A thrilled Gachagua said that the girl had exhibited astounding creativity in coming up with the name, which sounded melodious and easy to pronounce.

“The young lady who decided that the name Rigathi Gachagua is a little bit difficult and not melodious, and thought to give me the name Riggy G, I said it’s a good name. To encourage our young people, I took up the name with good stride. I have told my sons to look for that girl to come we have dinner,” said Gachagua.
