In a move to harness the growing esports market in Africa, Digital Afrique Telecom (DAT) has formed a partnership with global esports entertainment company, Clipfeed.
The partnership aims to deliver esports solutions for mobile operators across the continent.

The strategic collaboration aims to create a white label platform called the “Africa Gaming Box” to mobile operators across the continent. This comprehensive platform is designed to provide users with acfeatures, including live tournaments and immersive esports challenges
“We are excited to partner with Digital Afrique Telecom to bring esports to mobile operators in Africa,” said Clipfeed CEO and founder Michael Whelan.
He further added “This partnership will allow us to reach a wider audience and help to grow the esports community in Africa,”
Clipfeed has a track record of working with telecom operators, Direct-to-Home (DTH) providers, Internet Service Providers (ISPs), and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to create entertainment destinations for consumers.
DAT, is known for its Software as a Service (SAAS) and Value-Added Services (VAS) solutions that offer customizable platforms to meet the needs of mobile operators in Africa.
Africa, with its youthful and growing population, serves as a prime market for esports growth. With over half of Africans under the age of 25, this demographic is particularly inclined toward esports.
The continent’s increasing connectivity to the internet is also a compelling factor. In 2022, more than 500 million Africans had internet access, with this number projected to surge to over 1 billion by 2025.

The esports industry is set to reach a valuation of USD 1.6 billion in 2023, and Africa is earmarked as a key region for potential growth. Notably, the African esports market is outpacing the global average, with the number of esports enthusiasts in sub-Saharan Africa expected to surge to 222 million by 2025.
