Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have rounded up three notorious robbery suspects in Kilimani and Athi River.

The operation followed extensive forensic analysis of evidence collected from various armed robbery scenes across Nairobi and its environs over the past year.

The joint sting operation, conducted by detectives from DCI Headquarters, Starehe, and Athi River, led to the arrest of 39-year-old Julius Osoro Nyagoi in Kilimani.

After interrogation, Nyagoi led the investigators to his home in Green Park Estate, Athi River, where two of his accomplices were also apprehended.

During the search of the suspects’ premises, the police recovered a Czeska pistol loaded with seven rounds of ammunition, various motor vehicle parts, several SIM cards, mobile phones, laptops, an iPad, logbooks, wrist watches, and ATM cards.

Additionally, four impounded motor vehicles, including a Mazda Bongo, Toyota Noah, Toyota Mark X, and Toyota Fielder, were seized for further verification.

“In the resolute pursuit, detectives from DCI HQS, Starehe and Athi River joined forces in a sting operation, successfully pouncing on 39-year-old Julius Osoro Nyagoi at Nairobi’s Kilimani area,” said DCI.

The three suspects, John Michael Muturi (38) and Charity Njeri Kimani (34), along with Nyagoi, are now being processed for arraignment on Thursday, April 11, 2024.
