Coca-cola Brings The Original FIFA World Cup Trophy To Kenya

The world’s most coveted football trophy, the original FIFA World Cup™ is set to arrive in Nairobi, Kenya on the 26th of May 2022, courtesy of The Coca-Cola Company, in partnership with FIFA. Kenya is one of nine African countries selected to receive and host the trophy as part of an exclusive tour ahead of the FIFA World Cup™ event in Qatar in November.

The FIFA World Cup™ Trophy Tour will give millions of people in Kenya and around the world the opportunity to get up close and personal with the official Trophy that will be presented by FIFA to the winning country of this year’s FIFA World Cup™ tournament scheduled to take place in Qatar from November the 21st to December the 18th.

To enrich the experience in Kenya, Coca-Cola is  launching  a consumer promotion that will see five lucky consumers win a fully paid trip to Qatar to watch a World Cup match live.”

“Our theme for this Trophy Tour is “Believing is Magic’, which gives us an opportunity to share the joy of the season with fans far and wide, even if they do not make it to Qatar for the FIFA World Cup™. This is what our brand is all about – creating and sharing joy, happiness and bringing people together to enjoy, refresh and share the real magical moments,” added Ms. Mallowah.

The second phase will begin in August to mid-November – just before the start of the games in November. In Africa, Kenya will be the second country to receive the trophy.

“We are working closely with different stakeholders in the country to ensure a befitting trophy tour. Since all eyes will be on Kenya during the time the trophy will be here, it is a superb opportunity to showcase our country. We therefore invite you all to be part of this historical moment,” Ms. Mallowah said.

The consumer promotion dubbed FIFA World Cup Buy and Win promotion will run for two months from 11th April to 30th June. To participate in the promotion, consumers will be required to purchase 1Litre, 1.5Ltr or 2Ltr Coke, Fanta or Sprite, check the code under the cap and SMS the code to 40111 for a chance to win daily and weekly. Once the consumer wins a prize, they will receive an instant message with details of the win & collection process.

During the promotion, there will be over 500,000  prizes to  be won. Consumers will also have an opportunity to win VIP tickets for the viewing experience of the trophy in Nairobi with the grand prize of a fully paid trip to Qatar for five Consumers.

“This is one of our biggest activities this year and our commitment is to ensure that consumers in every corner of this country have access to our products to enable them participate in the promotion that could see some of them get a lifetime opportunity to win a trip to Qatar to watch a world cup match live as well as the opportunity to view the trophy once it lands in Kenya in May. The company has had stadium advertising at every FIFA World Cup™ since 1950 and is a long-time supporter of football on all levels. This is the fifth edition of the FIFA World Cup™ trophy tour where Coca-Cola and FIFA have come together to bring the trophy to the world.
