Bamburi Cement PLC Appoints New Non-Executive Director and Company Secretary

Bamburi Cement PLC has made significant appointments, with Claudia Albertini named as the new Non-Executive Director and Joyce Munene as the Company Secretary.

Claudia Albertini, an Italian national, brings over 26 years of experience in finance and accounting to the role. Currently serving as the Holcim Group’s Asia, Middle East, and Africa Region Chief Financial Officer, she has held several key positions within Holcim over the past 23 years, including Chief Executive Officer and Chief Finance Officer of Holcim Belgium and Head of Business Services & Corporate Projects. Albertini holds a Master’s Degree in Economics and Commerce from the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan, Italy, and a European Baccalaureate from the European School of Varese, Italy.

Joyce Munene, on the other hand, is a seasoned governance, legal, and compliance professional with extensive experience in the financial services and fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sectors. She also works as an Independent Corporate Governance Consultant. Previously, Munene served in various capacities, including Senior Legal Manager & Company Secretary at East African Breweries Limited and Legal Services Manager & Assistant Group Company Secretary at Equity Bank Group. She holds a Master’s in Business Administration (Strategic Management) from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture & Technology, a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of Pune, India, and a Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law (KSL).
