Former Laikipia Governor Nderitu Muriithi has found a new place to shelter after he was appointed a policy research fellow by Dedan Kimathi University of Science and Technology.
Muriithi, who also acted as the leader of Raila Odinga’s campaign board, lost the gubernatorial position he had held since 2017 to Joshua Irungu of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party.
According to the university through the Vice-Chancellor (VC), Prof Paul Ndirangu Kioni, the appointment of research fellows aims at positioning a university in a strategic position of getting wind of all information pertaining to academic matters.

“Research Fellows and Visiting Professors bring to the university new ideas and perspectives as well as knowledge acquired in an environment vastly different from that of the faculty in Dekut,” said the VC.
the VC also praised Muriithi for his contribution to the public sector, especially in supporting small businesses and people of the lower economic tier.
Mr. Muriithi also demonstrated his commitment to innovation as he worked closely with DeKUT to strengthen the university’s research capabilities.
This appointment is Muriithi’s major milestone since the embarrassing loss in the August 9th election, which saw him dethroned as the county boss while Raila Odinga, who he supported relentlessly, lost the presidency.
