The National Police Service (NPS) has provided an update on the recent spate of suspected abductions, assuring the public of ongoing investigations into cases reported in December 2024. The statement, released by Inspector General Dr. Resila Onyango, highlights progress in certain cases while appealing for public assistance in locating missing individuals.

In a significant development, Bernard Kavuli Musyimi, previously reported missing in Ngong’, presented himself at Moi’s Bridge Police Station and is now assisting authorities. Meanwhile, reports involving Billy Wanjiru Mwangi, Peter Muteti, and Rony Kiplangat, who were allegedly missing in locations such as Embu and Kabete, are also being actively investigated.

The Inspector General emphasized the importance of collaboration, stating, “We wish to assure the public that our officers will reach out to these families and offer all the necessary support as we seek further information to assist ongoing investigations.” The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) is leading the effort, examining all current and pending cases related to abductions.

Public cooperation remains crucial in the search for answers. The police have called on anyone with relevant information to step forward and contact the DCI through emergency lines 999, 911, 112, or the direct line provided in the statement. Dr. Onyango stressed the importance of community engagement in addressing the issue: “We hereby appeal to members of the public to collaborate with us by providing any information that may aid investigations.”
