Malala calls Mulembe leaders to grassroots meeting for direct engagement

UDA Secretary General Cleophas Malala has urged all Mulembe nation leaders to attend an upcoming meeting designed to foster direct interaction between political leaders and their constituents. Over the years, minimal engagement has been observed between these two groups, a trend Malala is determined to change.

Addressing the issue, Malala emphasized the importance of leaders returning to their roots to better understand and address the needs of their people.

“You cannot lead your people from Nairobi. You cannot be saying and making decisions from Nairobi and yet you have never come back to talk to your people,” he asserted.

This statement highlights a significant disconnect, where decisions impacting local communities are often made in the capital without adequate consultation or input from the very people they affect. By bringing leaders back to the grassroots level, Malala believes that more informed and relevant decisions can be made, tailored to the actual needs of the communities.

Malala specifically called upon all leaders holding office in trust of the people of mulembe including Hon. Moses Wetangula and Hon. Musalia Mudavadi to attend the meeting, stressing the necessity for prominent figures to lead by example. He implored them to set aside “individualistic egos” and prioritize the collective needs of the Mulembe nation.

The meeting, set to be held today, is expected to draw significant attention and participation from various stakeholders within the Mulembe nation. It aims to establish a platform where citizens can voice their concerns, share their experiences, and directly influence the political discourse.
