Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Mohamed Amin announced today the arrest of Collins Jamaisi, the prime suspect in a series of brutal murders of women in Kware, Mukuru Slums, Nairobi, following an extensive manhunt that has left the community in shock and mourning.

The suspect was apprehended on Monday morning in Kayole, where he had been hiding. His residence, located approximately 500 meters from the Kware dumpsite, has been linked to the recovery of at least forty mutilated bodies, prompting widespread outrage and fear within the community.

During a press briefing from DCI headquarters, Amin provided critical updates, revealing a trove of evidence discovered in Jamaisi’s home. Among the items found were seven mobile phones, two hard drives containing videos depicting multiple women, two USB drives, various memory cards, 24 Airtel SIM cards, machetes, and two notebooks filled with disturbing content. These findings have intensified scrutiny on Jamaisi’s activities, suggesting a premeditated pattern of violence against women.

Authorities reported that the victims’ bodies were wrapped in nylon and secured with ropes, raising alarming questions about how these heinous crimes could have gone unnoticed for so long, especially given the police station’s proximity of just about a kilometer from the dumpsite. This has sparked public outrage and calls for increased police accountability.

DCI reports indicate that Collins Jamaisi has confessed to the killings, revealing a shocking preference for targeting “beautiful ladies.” Moreover, it has come to light that he allegedly murdered his wife in 2021, disposing of her body in the very dumpsite where other victims were found.

In a related development, a second individual has been arrested in connection with the case, identified as an accomplice who may also serve as a crucial witness in the ongoing investigation. Authorities are conducting further interrogations to unravel the full scope of the operation and any additional suspects that may be involved.

Both suspects are scheduled to appear in court tomorrow, as community members continue to demand justice and answers regarding the safety of women in the area. DCI Amin emphasized the agency’s commitment to thoroughly investigating these crimes and ensuring that those responsible face the full force of the law.
