Interior Cabinet Secretary Prof. Kithure Kindiki has mourned Lamu County Commissioner Louis Kipng’etich Rono who died following an illness.
His demise was announced by the National Government Administrative Officers (NGAOs) in a statement Thursday evening. “This evening, we find ourselves in a sombre mood as we remember Louis Kipngetich Ronoh, County Commissioner of Lamu County, who has sadly departed following a brief illness.”
The statement said Ronoh had until his death served with distinction as a National Government Administrative Officer for 27 years of his life.
“His recent promotion to County Commissioner on March 16, 2023, was a testament to his exemplary service and commitment. We extend our sincere condolences to Ronoh’s family, relatives and friends during this difficult time,” the statement added.
Kindiki said Rono served the country with patriotism and dedication for 28 years without blemish and sent his thoughts to the family adding that he served the nation with distinction in various ranks and stations throughout his career.
He noted that the late county commissioner will be remembered for leading Lamu County Security and Intelligence Team in the war on terror in Boni Forest.
On his part, Interior Principal Secretary Dr. Raymond Omollo mourned the late Rono as a diligent and dedicated National Government Administrative Officer (NGAO). “He will be remembered for his selflessness in the service of others and the country. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends,” the PS said.
Ronoh was among 12 deputy county commissioners who were on March 7, 2023, promoted to county commissioners by Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki.
