The government has declared war against unaccredited colleges that have been taking advantage of gullible parents and students.

According to the innovation director of the Technical, Vocational, and Training Authority (TVETA), Timothy Nyongesa, the increase in demand for higher education has led to the mushrooming of numerous unregistered colleges in the country.

“The government is set to begin bringing out of business all illegally operating tertiary institutions to restore sanity in the crucial sub-sector with the ultimate goal of offering an assurance of quality to students and their parents alike, “Nyongesa stated.

Additionally,he asserted that the move to close down unaccredited institutions will be made in order to protect learners and ensure that they receive quality education.

Nyongesa further urged parents to do thorough research on institutions before enrolling their children.
